Moreover, the Shahnameh severally attributes Yemen to a place having no relation with this country. The investigation of the reign of Yazdgerd I in the Shahnameh shows that at least at some point in the Sassanid period, the realm of Hirah was called Yemen. To resolve this paradox, we must consider that the word “Yemen” is not an Arabic term, it essentially belongs to Hebrew, especially as a toponym of the south. Based on the research findings, the toponym is originated from the large and influential Jewish community located in Arabian Peninsula and Upper and Lower Mesopotamia. In both regions, Jews succeeded to gain political influence; in the Persian Empire, Yazdgerd I married with the daughter of the Iranian Jewish leader. This period was accompanied with the highest political influence of the Jews into Persian Empire. One consequence was the adaptation of Yemen reference to Hirah in the Sassanid court and its entry into the Khodaynameh.}, keywords = {Shahnameh,Historical Geography,Sassanids,Yemen,Hamavaran,Hirah}, title_fa = {معمای یمن در بخش ساسانی شاهنامه}, abstract_fa = { یمن امروز در روزگار باستان چنین نامی نداشت و اگر دولت «حِمیَر» از حبشه شکست نمی‌خورد چه بسا این کشور را با نامی می‌شناختیم که از نام این دولت سرچشمه گرفته بود، همچنان‌که هاماوران در شاهنامه برگرفته از حمیر است. از سوی دیگر در شاهنامه یمن بارها به جایی اطلاق شده که ربطی به یمن امروزی ندارد؛ بررسی پادشاهی یزدگرد یکم در شاهنامۀ فردوسی نشان می‌دهد که دست‌کم در مقطعی از دورة ساسانی قلمروی حیره را یمن می‌نامیدند. برای توضیح این تناقض باید گفت که برخلاف انتظار واژۀ یمن در اصل یک واژۀ عربی نیست بلکه ریشۀ عبری دارد و در کاربردش به عنوان جاینام به معنی جنوب است. نتایج این پژوهش نشان می‌دهد که منشأ اطلاق این جاینام به حیره و یمن امروزی وجود جامعة پرشمار و بانفوذ یهودیان در دو منطقۀ میانرودان و شبه‌جزیرۀ عربستان بوده‌ است. ضمن اینکه در هر دو منطقه یهودیان موفق به کسب نفوذ سیاسی شده بودند و در ایران یزدگرد یکم دختر پیشوای یهودیان ایران را به همسری برگزید. در این دوره نفوذ یهودیان در دربار ایران به حداکثر خود رسید که یکی از پیامدهای آن اقتباس اطلاق یمن به حیره در دیوان ساسانی و ورود آن به خداینامه بود.}, keywords_fa = {شاهنامة فردوسی,جغرافیای تاریخی,ساسانیان,یمن,هاماوران,حیره}, url = {https://classicallit.ihcs.ac.ir/article_6215.html}, eprint = {https://classicallit.ihcs.ac.ir/article_6215_816b3ff7a956f0b13d70514d4f5475d2.pdf} }
